Chairman Lagos Island Local Government

(1997 – 1998)
Contributions / Achievements
  • Creation of Salary Accounts for ALL Local Government (LG) Employees. Prior to that LG employees received their salaries in cash.
  • Built a Police station in Jankara market.
  • First LG Chairman to pay WAEC fees for all JSS 3 students in the Local Government.
  • Upgraded and maintained the Onikan swimming pool (Now Defunct) at Olympic standard.

Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture

(1999-2003)
Contributions / Achievements
  • Coordinated and Established the 1st Holy Pilgrimage Program tours to Mecca and Jerusalem (program in use to date)
  • Organized 1st and 2nd International Black Heritage Festival
  • Organized cultural festivities in Lagos e.g Fanty Carnivals, Eyo, Fun day fairs

Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

(2003 – 2007)
Contributions / Achievements
  • Sponsored Bill to prevent Casualization in Public and Private Establishments
  • Sponsored Bill to control and regulate Dredging, Excavation, and reclamation of Land
  • Sponsored and passed a motion on the surge and overflow of the Atlantic Ocean along Bar Beach Shoreline Victoria Island.
  • Sponsored and passed a motion to resolve conflict and clash between Nigeria Police Force and Army in Lagos.
  • Sponsored and passed a motion calling for a probe into the destruction and disrepair of the Velodrome at National Stadium Abuja.

Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana

Contributions / Achievements
  • Created and established the Nigeria Chamber of Commerce
  • Built and completed the New Chancery in Accra
  • Facilitated mass entry of Nigerian businesses into Ghana – Nigerian investment grew from $600million – $4Billion during this period.
  • Significant improvements in bilateral relations between Ghana and Nigeria

Contributions / Achievements
  • Supervised activities of the Nigeria Navy
  • Received NNS Okpabana (Thunder) formerly a United States Coast Guard security vessel on behalf of Nigeria.
  • Supervised activities of the Military Pensions Board
  • Supervised special security projects between the Ministry of Defence and the Office of National Security Adviser.
